AOK Today: Join Rare's Giving Circle to improve global mental health together
"Big change starts small – and starts together."
How It Works: Giving Circles are communities of change-makers pooling together micro-donations to make mega-donations that actually make a difference. It is designed to make generosity both accessible and participatory. Contributions to the Rare Giving Circle will support the Rare Impact Fund and their global cohort of non-profit partners, which are working to expand access to youth mental health services and education around the world. It does so by supporting, (1) school-based solutions, (2) suicide prevention and crisis support, and (3) community support networks.
“We are not asking people to give more – we are inviting them to give together,” Seth Blaustein, founder of Dollar Donation Club.
The DDC aims to shift our focus from relying on begging billionaires to give more, to creating a collective super-philanthropist with our community of millions of people donating just $1 each.
Cost: Tier one, ‘Gratitude’, is a $1 per month donation; tier two is ‘Bold’, which is $5 per month; and tier three is ‘Rare’, which is $10 per month.
Why I love it: As you know, I'm a big fan of small steps and a big believer in the great impact these can have. I'm particularly drawn to Dollar Donation Club partnering with Rare Impact Fund because of their belief: "It’s not about how much we give, it’s about how many of us unify to give a little"
Happy Giving |XOX|
