AOK Today: Single use the sustainable way. Left your keep cup at home? Use a Good Edi coffee cup.
“Science may never come up with a better office communication system than the coffee break.”—Earl Wilson
How It Works: There's no doubt takeaway cups are handy. But as mentioned in a previous AOK, 2.7 million of them are finding their way into landfills each day in Australia. That's an estimated one billion every year. While the preference is to reduce and reuse - sometimes we're just not prepared when the coffee cravings kick in. Good Edi is a single use, waste-free alternative to a takeaway cup. It is edible (made from the highest quality oats and grains - vegan and a great source of fibre), locally made, and breaks down naturally (if you don't eat it all!). As with most AOKs, combine it with a little chat with the barrista or a coworker for that extra oxytocin hit in addition to your caffeine shot.
Cost: $5.50 (often with a coffee)
Why I love it: It is so much fun and convenient when I leave my keep cup at home, or don't want to carry one around with me for the day.
