How It Works: Grow It Local is a celebration of backyard, balcony, community and window-sill farmers across the country - your local grow community - with a mission to get more people growing, sharing and eating locally grown foods. Grow It Local was first brought to life in 2012 as a ‘crowd farming’ initiative. Local growers were invited to put their patch on the map and donate some home grown produce in each exchange to a crowd farmed growers feast. You can still put your patch on the map, and join the community to:

• GROW: get inspired by seeing who’s growing locally & what's under cultivation

• SHARE: connect with local growers to learn and share knowledge, expertise, produce, recipes and more

• EAT: attend local food experiences that celebrate local produce, growers, chefs & like-minded businesses

Cost: Free

Why I love it: As Costa puts it, "We're all nurtured by mother nature's cycles and seasons; gardening the soil gardens the soul." It's also the People. Planet. Prosperity for me - enhance mental health, connect to nature, reduce organic waste to landfill, free food & fun growing it!
