AOK Today: Buy shower care that doesn't hurt the environment

How It Works: Whether you are on a budget (see option 2) or like the finer things in life, find shower items that you love to use without harming the planets (eliminate plastic, clear the ocean of existing plastic, reduce, ruse, recycle). These are some of my favourites - I've tried them all.

1. ZeroCo: You only ever use ONE forever bottle (which itself is made from ocean, beach, and landfill waste), you fill it with the body wash/shampoo/etc from the refill pouch they give you (made from recycled plastic), then you send the pouch back (in a postage paid envelope they provide) and they refill it for you whenever you need!

2. Bar None: They have shampoo and conditioner bars, or liquid versions that come in infinitely recyclable aluminium bottle. They provide environmentally friendly products without the typical exorbidant price tag.

3. L'Occitane en provence: If you love a good label and have some extra cash to splash, L'Occitane also have shampoo bars made with essential oils, as well as refill pouches for liquid shampoo that they TerraCycle

Cost: $4.95 (bar none) - $19.95 (L'Occitane) - or another brand you find!

Why I love it: It's seriously such an easy transition (particularly to refills).
